Boston Scores is a Boston-based youth development nonprofit that combines soccer, poetry, and service-learning to support kids in under-resourced neighborhoods. Through its after-school program, Scores serves thousands of K–8 students every year at partner Boston Public Schools in East Boston, Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. Poet-athletes train as a team three days a week, learn to write and perform spoken word, and design and lead service projects that improve their own communities. Boston Scores is part of the national America SCORES network and culminates each season with city-wide soccer jamborees and poetry slams.
