Boston's network of more than 50 community gardens, now stewarded by The Trustees, gives city residents the chance to grow food, flowers, and community on neighborhood plots from East Boston to Mattapan. Each garden is governed by its own member group with volunteer coordinators handling plot assignments, work days, and seasonal events. Gardeners receive a low-cost annual plot, access to shared tools and compost, and a citywide network of workshops on organic growing, seed saving, and food preservation. Waitlists are open year-round and reduced-fee plots are available for low-income residents.
