Founded in October 2022 by Maria Llorens, Miami Hiking Club is a volunteer-led group introducing locals to the surprising natural beauty of South Florida — from Big Cypress National Preserve and the Everglades to Crandon Park and Greynolds Park. Monthly hikes fill up fast and maintain a waitlist, with ten volunteer leaders helping manage growing demand. Llorens, a policy director and Florida Trail thru-hiker, built the club around the belief that hiking should be accessible and free, accepting only voluntary donations.
