Weekly runs, a start line newcomers can actually find, and no organizer fee. Where to host a run club in 2026, judged at 7:52 on a Saturday.
It is 7:52am on a Saturday. Someone is standing near the park entrance holding a coffee, hoping they are in the right place. Everything about hosting a running club comes down to that person.
A Saturday morning, minute by minute
| Time | What happens | What your page has to do | | --- | --- | --- | | Thursday 6pm | People decide their weekend | Show the run, the pace, the exact meeting spot | | Friday 8pm | "Is it still on?" | Give them a group chat, not your DMs | | Saturday 7:52am | A newcomer arrives alone | Make the meeting point obvious on a map | | Saturday 8:05am | The run starts | RSVP list tells you who to look for | | Saturday 9:30am | Coffee and photos | Next week's run already posted |
The trailhead problem "Meet at the park" has ended more running clubs than shin splints. Drop a map pin, then write the human version: "By the water fountain at the Beacon Street entrance, look for the orange flags."
Pace groups List them. Actually list them.
• Easy, 10:30 to 12:00 per mile, conversation the whole way • Steady, 9:00 to 10:00, some talking • Fast, sub-8:00, see you at the coffee shop
"All paces welcome" is nice. Numbers are what turn a nervous first-timer into a regular.

Where to actually host it Strava is superb for mileage and leaderboards, but a feed is not a schedule. Instagram recruits beautifully and remembers nothing. A club page holds the recurring run, the RSVPs and the chat, and it is free to host.
:::tip Weather policy, written once "We run in rain. We cancel for lightning and ice. Check the group chat by 7am." Post it in your description and never answer that question again. :::
Your first four weeks
• Week 1: same route, same time, invite six runners you know • Week 2: add the coffee stop, it doubles retention • Week 3: post a photo and the next date within an hour of finishing • Week 4: ask everyone to bring one friend
